of Question 25. Opposition's Response Fluoride does not cause aids, but it could certainly be a co-factor in the development of AIDS. The immune system is the first line of defense against bacteria, viruses and other parasites, as well as from the spontaneous generation of potentially cancerous cells. Any agent which reduces the ability of the immune system to function efficiently, will tend to reduce the resistance of the population to infection, and will increase susceptibility to cancer and immune depressed states such as post-viral fatigue syndrome and AIDS.
